Peter Ackerman is an attorney in the Portland metro area providing legal counsel and general consultation services to both business and private clients on a wide array of issues, with a predominant focus on intellectual asset identification, valuation, management and protection. Legal matters include, but are not limited to strategic corporate and business general counsel, deal review, intellectual property (patents, copyrights, trade & service marks and trade secrets), commercial real estate transactions and estate planning. Mr. Ackerman also provides litigation services in a number of areas either attendant to business concerns or on an individual basis.

Mr. Ackerman's client base is diverse, consisting of individuals, privately held entities and highly successful entrepreneurs. Many of his clients are pre-IPO or partner with large publicly held companies. Mr. Ackerman's clients and cases geographically extend intrastate, interstate and/or international.

There are a number of ways in which Mr. Ackerman provides services. One involves the provision of direct counsel to clients who are seeking up-to-date advice on a variety of issues. Another entails working in conjunction with or in addition to a client's existing attorneys or other service providers on specific matters. This would not supplant the professionals with whom a client is satisfied, but might fill in gaps, offer independent guidance or augment what is already taking place. Finally, Mr. Ackerman can assess whether an individual situation requires assembly of a specialized team to address a client's unique needs. In those situations, Mr. Ackerman will present the client with an outsource referral or personally assemble a team tailored specifically for the client. In the latter case, Mr. Ackerman will monitor the team's performance for accuracy, timeliness and cost containment.

Mr. Ackerman's approach is simple - to provide fast and sound guidance and risk assessment to clients in a manner that helps them achieve their individual business expectations and goals. He does not bill for routine faxes, photocopies and similar costs, nor does he bill for taking the time to learn more about a client's business.
