While at the Santa Clara University School of Law, Mr. Ackerman published "Canned Software Warranties: Concerns on Both Sides of the Transaction" in the Computer & High Technology Law Journal. He also studied at Oxford University, England under the guidance of Fellow of Magdalen College and author Colin Tapper, who wrote the book: Computer Law. Mr. Ackerman is originally from New York. He settled in Oregon in 1989. He is a member of both the California and Oregon state bars. Mr. Ackerman began his professional career in the legal department of Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon. He later accepted a position as Deputy District Attorney for Multnomah County in Portland, Oregon. These experiences provided the foundation for opening an independent law practice, and clients benefit from the corporate counsel and litigation experience Mr. Ackerman acquired. Mr. Ackerman also serves as a Municipal Judge for the city of Beaverton, Oregon, one of the most technologically advanced courts in the United States. His most recent article is titled "E-Commerce Law Update - The Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) and Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act (UCITA)." Short Form Resume:
